Today will pray and meditate on the third day of the Novena to St. Gertrude The Great, the Patron Saint of the West Indies.
Let us unite in prayer, opening our hearts to the wisdom and grace that this novena promises, with the hope that it brings us closer to the divine and enriches our spiritual lives.
Day 3 – St. Gertrude the Great Novena Prayer
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
Dear Lord, we thank You for giving us St. Gertrude the Great as an example of holiness. Help us to imitate the love of You she showed in her many years of faithful service as a nun.
St. Gertrude the Great, you chose to follow God’s call to the religious life. You entered the Benedictine order and set out on the path of wholehearted service to God.
Please bring my petitions before God Whom you served so wholeheartedly!
As a nun, you began having mystical visions. You began to devote yourself constantly to spiritual pursuits, and you grew to great heights of spiritual union with God.
Pray for me, that I may seek to grow to deeper unity in my relationship with God. Pray that I may be eager to devote myself wholeheartedly to Him.

Prayer to the Souls in Purgatory
Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, those in my own home and within my family. Amen.
St. Gertrude the Great, pray for us!
